NORTH PROVIDENCE – Mayor Charles Lombardi and the Recreation Department invite the public to attend the town’s annual tree-lighting event this Sunday, Dec. 7, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Meehan Overlook in Notte Park.
Lighting of the memorial tree will take place at 4 p.m.
Residents are invited to donate ornaments in memory of their loved ones to decorate the memorial tree. When dropping off an ornament, provide the name of the person being remembered. A sign will display all names.
Drop off ornaments to the Recreation Department, 2 Governor Notte Parkway, by Monday, Dec. 1.
The North Providence High School band will perform from 4:30 to 5 p.m. Santa arrives by fire truck at 4:45 p.m. The lighting of the town tree happens at 5 p.m. Free photos with Santa start at 5:15 p.m.
