The Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, on Thursday that, "Getting Special Intensive Revision (SIR) done in the state is a tactic by Amit Shah. If our government would have tried to stop it, then the centre would have imposed the President's Rule."

While addressing an anti-SIR rally at Murshidabad, the CM said, "The people of Bengal are not so foolish as to fall into Shah's trap. All of you should not be afraid of SIR, just submit your documents."

She further said, "I have not filled out my form yet. First, all your names will be entered, then I will fill in. 'May I Help You' camps are set up at every booth, take help there."

Mamata said, '40 people died due to SIR.'
