YORK COUNTY — York County announced c urbside recycling service will resume beginning the week of Jan. 5, and it will be replacing TFC-branded recycling cans the week of Monday, Dec. 8.
The county first announced in October that curbside service would resume after it issued a Notice of Intent to Award for Curbside Trash and Recycling Services to BFI Waste Management Services LLC, doing business as Republic Services of Yorktown.
Curbside service had ended in September after The Virginia Peninsulas Public Service Authority Board of Directors voted to terminate its curbside recycling contract with Tidewater Fibre Corporation. VPPSA is the regional waste authority.
Some residents have TFC-branded recycling cans from the previous contractor that will need to be replaced before service
