Agartala, 4 th December 2025 : The Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) took to the streets today, denouncing the newly implemented labour codes as “draconian” and staging a protest march across several city routes. Workers and supporters joined the demonstration, voicing strong opposition to the central government’s decision.
Addressing the rally, CITU state committee president Manik Dey launched a scathing attack on the Centre, alleging that the new labour laws are “anti-worker” and designed to curtail the rights of the working class. He noted that the government enforced the codes on November 21, claiming the move was intended to serve corporate interests rather than safeguard labour rights.
