Coronation Street star Jack P Shepherd dropped a major clue about his involvement in the upcoming Emmerdale crossover, before explosive new details were revealed.

The actor, who is famed for playing David Platt in the Manchester-based soap, wasn't revealed to be taking part in the historic TV event until earlier this week when an explosive trailer revealed what's ahead for the residents of Weatherfield and the Dales.

For those unaware, a crossover of the two majors soaps has been commissioned to herald the start of ITV's new soap power hour schedule. It will see both of the show's air in half an hour instalments every weeknight, while still being available from 7am on ITVX and YouTube.
