The first look at Rivals season 2 has confirmed David Tennant’s fate after his character was left-for-dead in the acclaimed Disney+ series’ cliffhanger at the end of its first season.

Released last year, Rivals is based on the best-selling novel by Dame Jilly Cooper. Set in the 1980s, with the backdrop of the Cotswolds countryside, the award-winning Disney+ drama follows the high-stakes world of British television.

With careers, marriages and reputations being destroyed at the blink, Rivals became one of the biggest UK programmes of recent years upon its premiere. Appearing in the series is Tennant, Danny Dyer, Aidan Turner, Alex Hassel, Bella Maclean, Emily Atack and Katherine Perkinson.
