FINDLAY, Ohio (WTVG) - Though Joyce Wilson lives in a retirement home, at 95 years old, she’s still hard at work.
“It’s all done by hand,” Wilson said.
Wilson is using a craft she learned to make washcloths for World War II soldiers to now help those in need. She’s crocheted over 1,200 hats and scarves for the homeless community since she moved to Findlay six years ago.
“We have never sat idle, my mother and grandmother, they always had something in their hands, and my sister too,” Wilson said.
This year’s donation fills her living room, that’s 116 hats and 25 scarves.
“It probably takes seven hours, maybe to do a hat and scarf,” Wilson said.
