Google has started testing AI-generated headlines in the Google Discover feed, reports The Verge . As part of the test, some articles are showing AI-written headlines in place of the ones published by their respective outlets, and some of those AI-produced replacements are resulting in misleading or outright incorrect headlines.
For example, one AI-generated headline claimed that the price of the Steam Machine had been revealed, even though the original article by Ars Technica contained no pricing information at all.
Google says the new AI-powered headlines are only part of a limited interface test for some users, and their purpose is supposedly to make information more easily accessible.
