TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - The state auditor is seeking nearly $2 million in repayment from a local behavioral health agency over improper Medicaid payments.
The Auditor of State’s Office said it found more than $1.75 million in the improper payments over the course of three years to Empowered for Excellence Behavioral Health of Ohio. Auditor Keith Faber said that it’s recommending a repayment of closer to $1.87 million due added interest.
While the auditor’s office is making the recommendation for repayment, it’s up to the Department of Medicaid and/or the Ohio Attorney General’s Office to take action on recouping any money.
