Two window washers stranded high above Tysons were pulled to safety Thursday morning after their basket malfunctioned on the side of a Northern Virginia high-rise, according to Fairfax County Fire and Rescue.

Units were called to the 7900 block of Tysons One Place around 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 4, for a reported technical rescue. Fire officials said crews found two workers stuck on a disabled window-washing basket several stories up.

Members of the Technical Rescue Operations Team were sent up the building and lowered both workers into a tower-ladder bucket. Fire officials said there were no injuries.

Crews remained on the scene checking equipment and clearing the area as the investigation continued.
