CLEVELAND — Cleveland Browns stars Myles Garrett and Carson Schwesinger were honored by the NFL as the league announced its monthly defensive awards for November.
Defensive end Garrett was named AFC Defensive Player of the Month, while linebacker Schwesinger earned NFL Defensive Rookie of the Month.
Garrett led all NFL players with nine sacks in November and tied for the league lead with 13 tackles for loss (TFLs).
He was the only NFL player to record at least one sack in every November game and the only player with multiple TFLs in each contest. Garrett anchored a defense that allowed 260 yards per game, the second-fewest in the NFL.
The Browns star also set an NFL record for most sacks over a five-game span with 14, surpassing Michael Strahan’s 12.5 in 2001, and tied an NFL record
