DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - A Davenport man who was once the program director for a youth golf organization has been charged with sexually abusing a child.
According to Davenport police, Scott Stowe, 38, sexually abused the child in his car and home between 2021 and 2024.
Police say the victim was 11-14 years old.
The charging documents don’t identify the child or whether the victim was connected to Stowe through his role as program director at First Tee, an organization that aims to introduce children to golf.
Calls to the organization weren’t immediately returned Thursday morning.
The First Tee website has a page dedicated to keeping students safe. All its coaches must pass a background check and complete a training program. The page also lists ways to report abuse and misconduct.
