The University of Calgary (U of C) has moved up a spot on a recent ranking of Canada’s top research universities, highlighting its growing strength in research funding.
According to Re$earch Infosource, the U of C is now ranked fifth nationally, up from sixth place last year. In 2024, the university brought in over $588 million in external research funding, an increase of nearly eight per cent compared to 2023.
According to U of C, research funding comes from governments, corporations and institutions, both outside and within Alberta.
