A teenager accused of fatally shooting his 17-year-old ex-girlfriend in her bed at her Avondale apartment before attempting to shoot her mother was indicted on multiple felony charges including first-degree murder.
The Maricopa County Attorney's Office announced that a grand jury indicted Emilio Rivera, 18, after investigators say he murdered the teenager on Nov. 8.
Rivera then entered the bedroom of Natasha Flores, the girl's mother, and tried to shoot her when his gun jammed, the Attorney's Office said. Rivera also slashed the tires of several vehicles prior to the shooting, the agency added.
A grand jury indicted Rivera on first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder and criminal damage. He's being held in a Maricopa County jail on a $1 million cash-only bond, and his trial is
