The London Knights were minus-20 in the penalty department last year.

That means they were shorthanded 278 times and were on the power play 258 times. That roster, which won the Memorial Cup, had enough skill and composure to keep that from being an issue.

But this current edition needs every offensive edge it can muster. That has been evident all season, but especially in its past two home defeats.

London didn’t earn a single power play against Saginaw at Canada Life Place last week and surrendered a goal to Kitchener on its lone opportunity in Wednesday’s Teddy Bear loss.

That’s a big part of the difference between winning and losing right there.
