Following the recent success of The Naked Gun, which revived the long-dormant Leslie Nielsen police comedy franchise, Fackham Hall targets popular British period dramas. The most obvious source of inspiration stems from the continued popularity of Downton Abbey, a series that follows an aristocratic British family and their servants. Downton Abbey has even spawned several films, with Fackham Hall also drawing inspiration from other notable period movies, such as Gosford Park and works inspired by Jane Austen.
