TOLEDO, Ohio — The Lucas County Coroner's Office confirmed to WTOL 11 on Thursday the identity of a man who was found dead on a sidewalk in downtown Toledo on Nov. 30.

According to Lucas County Coroner Tom Blomquist, 61-year-old Richard Kwapich IV was found in a walkway in the 1100 block of Madison Avenue. He was covered in snow and declared deceased at the scene by authorities.

The coroner's office investigated the incident and performed an autopsy. The office determined Kwapich's cause of death was hypothermia, and his manner of death was ruled an accident. No injuries or foul play were identified, the coroner said.

In an earlier report, police said Kwapich, who was not identified at the time, appeared to be homeless.
