SHERBURNE, New York (WWNY) - The state is using a video of an SUV crashing into a plow to show how important it is to slow down when roads are snow-covered and slippery.
The state Department of Transportation posted the video on its Facebook page.
“On Tuesday, one of our plow trucks was involved in a crash on State Route 80 in the Town of Sherburne, Chenango County. Thankfully, no one was injured but this could have ended very differently,” the DOT said.
The post reminded drivers to slow down, drive for the conditions, and give themselves extra time.
“As this driver found out, snow, ice, and reduced visibility can turn a routine drive into a dangerous one in seconds,” the DOT said. “Our crews are out there to keep roads passable and communities moving. Please help keep them - and yours
