President Donald Trump’s name now adorns the building and signage around the US Institute of Peace.
The USIP is an independent agency with the stated goal of promoting conflict resolution and prevention worldwide through research, analysis, and training individuals in diplomacy, mediation, and other peace-building measures.
“This morning, the State Department renamed the former Institute of Peace to reflect the greatest dealmaker in our nation’s history,” a post on X said. “Welcome to the Donald J. Trump Institute of Peace. The best is yet to come.”
The new name comes ahead of a peace agreement signing ceremony between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), which took place there on Thursday.
Established in 1984 by congressional legislation signed into law by President Rona
