WESTERN Ky. (KFVS) - The governor announced more than $6 million was awarded for 12 bridge projects in western Kentucky.
According to a news release from Governor Andy Beshear’s Office, the funding will help with repairs, replacements and reopenings of locally-owned bridges.
“These bridges connect Kentuckians to their jobs, doctors, school, and more and it’s important that we ensure they are safe and modern for folks to travel on,” said Governor Beshear. “Once these projects are completed, Kentuckians will have safer travel, fewer delays and quicker commutes.”
This is the 5th round of awards and funds 10 bridge replacements and two bridge repairs. All 12 bridges are currently closed or posted with weight restrictions.
