BUCKEYE, AZ (AZFamily) — Police say two boys are facing charges after allegedly bringing a gun to a West Valley park and showing it off to others on Wednesday.
Buckeye police officers were called to the area of Sundance Parkway and 219th Lane around 5:45 p.m. on reports of a group of boys handling a gun.
Officers arrived and found the pair matching the suspect description: a 10-year-old boy who was found with a handgun in his backpack. A second boy, identified as a 16-year-old, was also reportedly involved.
Police said the younger boy was released to his parents, but they are recommending charges against him. Meanwhile, the teen was booked into jail on a weapons misconduct charge.
