The mother of teenage motorcyclist Harry Dunn has declared today that she can "rest easier" following revelations about Foreign Office shortcomings.

An independent investigation discovered that officials failed to handle the collision outside a US military installation as an emergency situation and concealed details from his relatives. Anne Sacoolas, a US state department worker, was travelling on the incorrect side of the carriageway when she struck Harry, 19, close to RAF Croughton in Northamptonshire during 2019.

American officials transported her back to the States 19 days afterwards, invoking diplomatic immunity. The examination conducted by Dame Anne Owers determined that Britain's sluggish response resulted in missed "opportunities to influence" the US administration
