Cornwall’s council chambers were filled to the brim with brass on Thursday as longtime Cornwall Police Service member Chad Maxwell was sworn in as the new deputy chief.
Having risen in rank over a 20-plus year career with the force, most recently stepping into the role of acting deputy chief since March 1, Maxwell expressed gratitude for his family and colleagues after taking an official oath of office. He said he always feels fortunate to be a part of a team that is made up of good people.

“As I look around the room and I see all of your faces, I am just so humbled,” said Maxwell, emotionally. “It has been quite a road over the years.”
