WASHINGTON (WCAX) - New York’s North Country will receive millions in federal funding for community revitalization projects through grants from the Northern Border Regional Commission .

New York’s congressional delegation announced the awards on Thursday, including:

One million dollars for the Saranac Central School District to tackle infrastructure issues with its new preschool.

SUNY Canton will get $1 million to construct a 15,000-square-foot childcare center offering affordable early education and intervention services for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years.

Paul Smith’s College will get just under a million dollars to launch the Troops to Timber program, which will train veterans for careers in forestry and logging.
