FAIRFIELD COUNTY, S.C. — Fairfield County authorities are searching for a man who hasn't been seen since Monday.

The Fairfield County Sheriff's Office said 62-year-old Timothy Lee Gillie went missing on Monday, around 2 p.m

Authorities said he had been dropped off at the Flying J travel center near North Main Street in Columbia and was planning to take a city bus to O'Neil Court to update his address at the Department of Motor Vehicles before heading to Dorn Veterans Affairs Hospital in Columbia. In his last known communication with anyone, deputies also suggested he texted that he was at an appointment at that hospital.

Investigators later learned from the hospital that Gillie didn't have an appointment for Dec. 1 but missed scheduled appointments on Dec. 3 and 4.
