On the second day of "Operation Catahoula Crunch," fear is growing among immigrant communities in New Orleans and surrounding areas due to an increased presence of border patrol agents.
From New Orleans to the Westbank and Kenner on the East Bank, federal agents' presence has been more pronounced. Advertisement
The increase in agents has impacted Hispanic-owned businesses.
Those businesses are reporting a decrease in customers this week after "Catahoula Crunch" kicked off Wednesday.
About 250 federal agents are expected for this months-long immigration crackdown.
As many immigrant families are staying home to avoid detention, local support groups are finding ways to offer support.
