SARASOTA, Fla. ( WWSB ) - A man is out on bond facing charges of DUI after a Suncoast business owner says he crashed his car into the front of the store late Tuesday night.

The crash left employees and customers of the Manatee Avenue Market shaken and the front of the store boarded up. The community, though, has quickly stepped in to help.

Around closing time Tuesday, employee Chris Reese was working in the back of the market when the car barreled over the curb and smashed through the store’s front entrance.

“I was just washing dishes in the back and I felt the whole building shake and a loud crash,” Reese recalled.

Security footage from the store shows the moment the vehicle slammed through the glass doors, scattering debris across the parking lot and into the business.
