BROOKLINE, Mass. —

A Harvard Law School professor who was arrested in October for shooting a pellet gun outside a Brookline, Massachusetts, temple, has been arrested again, this time by ICE agents, the Department of Homeland Security confirmed.

Carlos Portugal Gouvea, who is a Brazilian citizen, according to DHS, was arrested after he fired the pellet gun outside the Temple Beth Zion on Oct. 2.

He was subsequently charged with illegally discharging a BB/pellet gun, disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace and malicious damage to personal property, police said.

Gouvea told police that he was using the rifle to hunt for rats in the area.

After the arrest, Harvard placed Gouvea on administrative leave pending an investigation.
