BOISE, Idaho — Skylar Meade, the Idaho inmate who escaped police custody while undergoing medical treatment for self-inflicted wounds at a Boise hospital, has pleaded guilty to murder.

Meade on Thursday pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree murder for the deaths of James Mauney and Gerald Henderson in northern Idaho, according to the Nez Perce County Prosecutor's Office .

Mauney of Juliaetta and Henderson of Orofino were murdered while Meade and Nicholas Umphenour were on the run following the March 2024 attack at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center. Idaho State Police said Mauney’s remains were found near Leland.

The Nez Perce County Prosecutor's Office said Meade will be sentenced to two consecutive life sentences as part of the plea agreement.
