BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Ascension Catholic is back in the semi-finals for the third time in the last four years. The Bulldogs, despite having a first-year head coach in Taylor James, are one win away from returning to the Dome for a state title for the first time since 2018. Ascension Catholic taking down Catholic of Pointe Coupee in New Roads last week to arrive at this point, 50-42, behind a great team performance and stellar individual efforts from Trevin Simon and Christopher Anthens. Simon rushing 39 times for 400 yards and five touchdowns. Anthens helping open up the running lanes and racking up a dozen tackles with a pair of sacks and a forced fumble as well.
