Wawa opened its newest store in Middlesex County on Thursday, with a free coffee giveaway continuing through the weekend.
The 24-hour store at 88 Centennial Ave. in Piscataway, opened at 8 a.m. to a long line of customers wrapped around the building on a chilly morning.
The first 100 customers received free Wawa T-shirts.
All visitors can still get free hot coffee of any size through Sunday.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony featured state and local officials.
The event also included a “Hoagies for Heroes” competition in which police and firefighters competed to build hoagies, benefiting local charities.
The new location features limited-time holiday flavors including Snickerdoodle, Peppermint Cookies & Cream, and Peppermint Mocha.
