NORTH ROYALTON, Ohio -- North Royalton High School senior Andy Hudak recently completed a remarkable community service project -- collecting more than 4,500 books for the Cleveland Kids’ Book Bank.
What began as an idea inspired by earlier volunteer experiences grew into a large-scale effort supported by students, families and organizations across North Royalton and Broadview Heights.
Andy, who developed a love of reading through his teacher mother, said it was difficult to imagine children without books of their own.
That realization pushed him to organize a Back to School-themed book drive at North Royalton City Schools, the Broadview Heights Recreation Center, St. Albert the Great Parish and throughout his New Hampton neighborhood.
