Tulane 34, North Texas 31

North Texas has operated at a higher level than Tulane for most of the year, but the only thing that matters is which team peaks Friday night. The Green Wave is battle tested with a tougher schedule than the Mean Green, which has not faced a Power Four conference school. Its three opponents that have won more than six games held North Texas to 33 points (counting a field goal in overtime vs. Western Michigan), 31 (Navy) and 26 (in a 27-point loss to South Florida). Playing at home on what is likely to be a wet field, Tulane is primed to make up for its defeats in the past two title games and earn its first-ever CFP berth.
