WHEELING, Ill. — CreateOn is recalling about 9,400 Crayola-branded magnetic building cubes after determining the products pose a serious risk of injury or death if swallowed by children.
The recalled pip-Cubes contain magnets that can come loose when the seams separate, creating an ingestion hazard, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced. When high-powered magnets are swallowed, they can attract to each other or other metal objects inside the body, potentially causing life-threatening complications.
According to the safety commission, ingested magnets can perforate, twist or block the intestines, leading to blood poisoning and death.
The recall affects both Bold Colors and Glitter versions of the magnetic building cubes, sold in sets of 24 or 27 pieces. Bold Colors sets
