WASHINGTON STATE – The future of programs connecting students from migrant farmworking communities to higher education remains uncertain.

The University of Washington recently lost funding for the College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP). Now, attention turns to Washington State University (WSU) and the fate of similar programs.

The focus is on two key programs: CAMP and the High School Equivalency Program (HEP). Both are designed to support students in rural communities.

HEP, which has been helping people from migrant communities achieve their GED since 1967, is currently dormant for the first time since the late '60s.
