ALVARADO, Texas — One of the defendants indicted in connection with the July incident at a North Texas ICE detention facility has surrendered to federal authorities after being released last week on a "clerical error."
In a statement from the Free Des Support Committee, Daniel Rolando Sanchez-Estrada's lawyers speculate the release on Nov. 26 was due to a clerical error. He reportedly spent time with his family and friends before surrendering. The Department of Justice reportedly could have moved to renew a pretrial detention order imposed against Sanchez-Estrada when he was arrested.
