DALLAS — Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) was awarded a federal grant of more than $7 million to go toward replacing the aging vehicles in its bus fleet.
The Federal Transit Administration awarded grants to 165 transit projects across the country, including $7.094 million toward DART.
The agency plans to use the funds to help buy almost 500 new buses to replace older model vehicles. This is part of DART's $2.5 billion 10-year modernization program.
