After starting the season with 11 straight road games, the Komets faced another challenging run with seven games over 10 days to close out November.

When that stretch ended on Sunday with a 5-1 win over the Toledo Walleye, everyone on the team was running on fumes.

“I can tell you the coaching staff, the training staff, we’re exhausted, and we didn’t play,” Kallechy said. “Just imagine how the players feel. ... It’s freaking hard to travel and get no rest. These guys are physically going out there and putting their bodies on the line with very little rest.”

The stretch was taxing, but also successful. The Komets (13-4-1) earned 11 of a possible 14 points and solidified their depth while growing their Central Division lead.
