The Anderson Raptors saw a terrific season end in heartbreak Thursday night, with a second consecutive Ohio Division II state championship loss to the Avon Eagles.

Avon got the scoring started early in the first quarter, with a strong kick return on their second possession of the night leading to a 15-yard passing touchdown by quarterback Blake Elder, staking the Eagles a 7-0 record.
Avon added to its lead with a little over two minutes remaining in the first quarter, with Elder finding Caden Clapham for a 22-yard touchdown to stretch the Eagles’ lead to 14-0.
