SAN ANTONIO — For the second consecutive week, Refugio relied on a strong second half to capture a 27-13 win against Mason and earn its way back to the Class 2A Division I state semifinals.
The win secured Refugio's trip to the semifinals for first time since 2022 to play either St. Augustine or Joaquin at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11 at the Berry Center in Cypress.
The Punchers, who started the season 1-3 before rallying for nine consecutive wins, end their season at 10-4 under first-year coach Wade Griffin.
