GALVESTON

The Galveston Regional Chamber of Commerce on Jan. 24 will host its 181st Annual Meeting at the Galveston Island Convention Center, 5600 Seawall Blvd.

Doors open at 6 p.m. to honor exceptional people and organizations that have shaped the community.

This year, the prestigious “Nonno” Tony Smecca Galvestonian of the Year Award for 2025 will be presented to Vic Pierson, chairman, president and CEO of Moody Bank. Pierson serves on the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas Board of Directors and was inducted into the Texas Bankers Hall of Fame in 2020.

“Vic Pierson exemplifies what it means to be a true Texas leader — principled, visionary and deeply committed to the success of others,” said Gina M. Spagnola, president and CEO of the Galveston Regional Chamber of Commerce.
