In keeping with tradition , a Christmas tree has been installed in the Rhode Island State House rotunda.

And after some controversy , Gov. Dan McKee is inviting the public to visit for a holiday open house.

"The State House is decorated for the holidays, the indoor and outdoor Christmas trees are lit, and the public is welcome to visit and enjoy," McKee said in a statement.
