WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) - One person and 2 cats were rescued from an apartment fire in Watertown Thursday night.
According to the City of Watertown Fire Department, a fire was reported at 251 Stone Street in the city at 10:17 PM Thursday night with a subject trapped. Crews arrived on scene within one minute to find heavy smoke coming from the second floor of the apartment building, and one person in an upstairs window unable to escape.
While crews were making entry through the front of the building to search for other victims, Turck 1 rescued the person from the second-floor window using the ladder truck. Firefighters also rescued 2 cats from the second-floor apartment where the fire was located.
