Haryana extends ‘Retirement & Death Gratuity’ benefits to employees under Unified Pension scheme

Chandigarh, December 5, 2025 — The Haryana Government has approved a key reform, extending Retirement Gratuity and Death Gratuity benefits to all State Government employees covered under the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS).

An official memorandum issued by Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, who also serves as Additional Chief Secretary (Finance), confirmed that employees enrolled in the UPS will now receive these crucial financial benefits.

The Unified Pension Scheme, implemented from August 1, 2025, covers all state employees recruited on or after January 1, 2006, who were previously part of the National Pension System (NPS).
