DALLAS — A woman has been detained after stabbing holes in a fire hose as Dallas fire crews battled a house fire, authorities say.
Dallas Fire-Rescue was dispatched to a house fire in the 2900 block of Prosperity Avenue just before 1 a.m. Friday. When they arrived on scene, crews found heavy fire in the one-story house, fire officials say.
Firefighters made a defensive attack and had the fire out within 30 minutes, crews say.
However, a woman made things more difficult for the crews when they started noticing lower pressure in one of the hoses, officials said. The suspect, 37-year-old Jermecia Murphy of Dallas, had stabbed multiple holes in the fire hose, making it unusable, according to DFR.
Investigators found the fire, incendiary in nature, began in the front room of the house, acco
