Frank Lampard insists he is not one to take “risks” as Coventry City take stock of their automatic promotion chasing squad ahead of the January transfer window.

The Sky Blues have put themselves in pole position to push for the Premier League after the first 18 games of the Championship campaign, sitting with a ten point lead at the top of the table ahead of the festive period.

But with on-going injury concerns and a relatively small squad from which to draw upon, the City boss could do with a bit of added quality to provide strength in depth, particularly on the wings where he has just two recognised wide men in Ephron Mason-Clark and Tatsuhiro Sakamoto.
