MAYFIELD, Ky. (KFVS) - A burglary investigation at a Mayfield business led to the arrest of a man on Thursday, December 4.

According to Mayfield Police, officers were called to a business after receiving a report of someone being seen after-hours inside the building stealing copper.

When officers arrived, police said they found 43-year-old Roger Belt, of Mayfield, hiding under a metal bin.

Officers searched Belt and reported finding bolt and wire cutters and several feet of cut copper wire in his pockets and backpack.

Investigators say Belt was seen on camera on at least two other occasions in recent weeks entering the building and stealing copper.

Belt was arrested and booked into the Graves County Restricted Custody Center on three counts burglary third-degree, possession of burglar
