Edinburgh Airport confirmed the resumption of flights on Thursday following a major IT issue that had brought all operations to a standstill earlier in the day, affecting dozens of flights and leaving thousands of passengers stranded.

“Flights have now resumed following the IT issue with our traffic controller provider. We thank passengers for their patience and understanding,” the airport said in a statement on social media.
