Brits are bracing for freezing weather conditions just days before Christmas , with snow forecast to hammer much of the country. According to the latest weather maps , parts of the UK will be covered in snow as bitterly cold weather hits, with temperatures plunging to as low as -7 °C.

WXCharts, which are prepared using the MetDesk data, show that the wintry conditions will cover several regions of the country on December 19 and 20 - less than a week before Christmas. The maps suggest a 663-mile snow bomb covering areas from Wick to Ipswich will smash into the country.
