Britain is preparing for more snow as winter sets in, and temperatures drop to -6C in the coming weeks. New maps by WXCHARTS, which uses MetDesk data, has revealed a period of wintry weather from December 17 to 19. In the run-up to Christmas, snow is expected across Scotland and in parts of North West England.

Scotland will bear the brunt of the unsettled conditions, with snowfall forecast from Cape Wrath in the north down to West Dumbartonshire. In England, dustings of around 1mm/hr are due to hit areas such as Manchester, Stoke-on-Trent, and Birmingham.
